FL Backyard Wedding
– in The Villages –
When Tricia first contacted me about photographing her wedding, I was over the moon excited! She was planning it all the way from New Jersey & she trusted me to fill in the blanks. I never got to meet her until the big day, but I felt like we were lifelong friends by that point. When November 4th came, both Tricia & Erik were so delightful and ecstatic, it was so easy to get along with them! I mean, who isn’t happy for a couple that’s about to get married! To kick off their FL backyard wedding, we started with a first look. If you’re not familiar with first looks, it’s when a bride & groom see each other before the ceremony. It’s an emotional moment and sometimes you want to be alone with the person you love for it. As a photographer, I love first looks because it gives us more time together to create amazing portraits. Couples also like them because they get to enjoy their reception more! As you can see, Tricia & Erik did not waste one moment to cuddle up.
I don’t even know how this can be someone’s backyard! It looks like some magical Floridian forest.
Don’t drop the wiggle butts!
It’s worth mentioning that the house Tricia got ready in was NOT the same one hosting their backyard wedding. After we finished the bridal party portraits, we all traveled to Tricia’s grandmother’s house across town.
Of note: First looks do not detract from the feelings you get during the ceremony. You’ll still have butterflies, I promise!
The wind made it difficult to light their unity candles. Hilarity ensued.
The new Mr. and Mrs. O’Brien specifically wanted some portraits by “an old car.” I originally thought it’d be an antique truck or old muscle car. This Chevy added so much fun to the pictures!
I can’t even. SO gorgeous!!
Thank you so much for checking out Tricia & Erik’s FL backyard wedding celebration! I had so much fun getting to know them and their friends!
If you’re planning a Florida destination wedding, I’d love to chat with you!
